Members of Wellington (Telford) Brass Band have been spotted out and about, not with instruments in hand, but maps, walking boots, and a questionable sense of direction, as they begin preparations for this year\u2019s Brass for Good (Formally Light the Lakes Massed Band).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In readiness for tackling one of the Wainwright Fells on 26th June, band members have started weekly training walks around their local area. However, things didn\u2019t quite go to plan on their latest outing. Armed with a map of the Lake District\u2026 they found themselves very much still in Telford. Undeterred, the group confidently studied the map, pointed at various distant peaks, and collectively agreed to pretend they knew exactly what they were doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The confusion didn\u2019t end there, with a conveniently placed \u201cfootpath closed\u201d sign adding an extra layer of adventure (or chaos) to the route. Still, spirits remained high, and the group took it all in their stride, literally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who couldn\u2019t make the evening walk, dedication levels remained impressive, with some members heading out earlier in the day to clock up the miles. It\u2019s all part of the band\u2019s new weekly initiative, taking place every Thursday, affectionately titled \u201cBand on the Run.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blending fresh air, fitness, and plenty of laughs, the walking group is quickly becoming as much a part of band life as rehearsals. If the navigation improves even slightly by June, the Lake District might just be ready for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
