Light the Lakes 2026: A Weekend of Music, Unity, and Remembrance

Wellington (Telford) Brass Band members are set to return to the Lake District for a third year, joining the Massed Band whose performance will take place against the stunning backdrop of the Wainwright fells.

The Light the Lakes charity event, held in support of Care of Police Survivors, will take place in the breathtaking surroundings of the Lake District on 26–27 June 2026. This annual gathering brings together communities, volunteers, and supporters to honour police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

A highlight of the weekend will be the Massed Brass Band, uniting musicians from across the region to deliver a powerful musical tribute on one of the Wainwright fells. Their performance offers both moment of reflection, underscoring the event’s purpose of supporting families who rely on the work of Care of Police Survivors.

Alongside the musical programme, Light the Lakes features a range of activities designed to bring people together, including charity walks, raffles, and community gatherings. The event blends remembrance with celebration, creating a meaningful and uplifting experience for all who attend.
