What a fantastic evening we had at The Anstice Hall, Madeley, for Telford Centre Rotary Club’s annual Last Night of the Proms fundraiser!
Wellington (Telford) Brass Band, under the direction of our Musical Director David Nicholson, was delighted to provide the music for an evening full of great entertainment, a wonderful atmosphere and plenty of traditional Proms spirit.
The audience were absolutely brilliant and really embraced the occasion, joining us for some much-loved Last Night of the Proms favourites and helping to create a fabulous atmosphere throughout the hall.
And, of course, we must mention the fish and chip supper, which went down extremely well and was the perfect accompaniment to a great night of music!
A very special mention must go to our wonderful guest vocalist Laura Noble, who was simply magnificent. Laura, who is also the daughter of our Musical Director David Nicholson, gave some beautiful performances and was a real highlight of the evening. It is always a pleasure to perform alongside such a talented singer.
Most importantly, the evening was held to raise money for two very worthwhile causes, with 75% of the net proceeds going to Lingen Davies Cancer Support and 25% to Rotary charities.
A huge thank you to Telford Centre Rotary Club for inviting us to be part of such an enjoyable event, to everyone involved in organising the evening, and to everyone who bought a ticket and supported the fundraiser.
We had an absolutely fantastic night and hope everyone in the audience enjoyed it as much as we did. We certainly hope this won’t be our last Last Night of the Proms!
