This year marks a special milestone for Wellington (Telford) Brass Band as we proudly celebrate our 25th anniversary.
Formed in 2000 from the former Dawley Brass Band, the group began with just a handful of enthusiastic players and a shared passion for making music. Over the past quarter of a century, the band has grown into a thriving ensemble of more than 30 members, ranging from beginners to experienced musicians — all united by a love of brass banding and community spirit.
From our early days rehearsing in small venues to performing on the contest stage, we’ve enjoyed countless memorable moments. Highlights include representing Wellington at regional and national competitions, entertaining audiences at concerts and local events, and most recently being promoted to the Second Section following a successful performance at the 2025 Regional Championships.
Today, the band continues to rehearse twice a week at Arleston Community Centre, where we welcome players of all abilities to join us. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or returning to banding after a break, there’s always a place for you at Wellington (Telford) Brass Band.
We’re also looking forward to celebrating our anniversary year with a packed calendar of events, including our Christmas Concert on Thursday 12th December at Dawley RBL Club. It promises to be a festive evening full of music and good cheer — please see our Events Page for full details.
As we look back on 25 years of hard work, music, and friendship, we’d like to thank all our current and former members, supporters, and the local community for helping us reach this milestone. Your encouragement and enthusiasm have made every note worthwhile.
Here’s to the next 25 years of Wellington (Telford) Brass Band! 🎶
