A group of determined players from Wellington (Telford) Brass Band braved wind, rain and some very questionable December weather this week to bring a little festive cheer to the top of the Wrekin.
Despite the blustery gusts and persistent drizzle, our hardy band members made the climb with instruments in tow, gathering at the summit to perform a selection of well-loved Christmas carols. Passers-by and fellow walkers were treated to an unexpected high-altitude concert, with the sound of brass drifting across Shropshire’s most iconic hill.
The conditions may have been far from ideal, but spirits were high. The mix of rain, wind, mud and festive tunes made for a memorable adventure—and a brilliant way to kick off our Christmas season.
A huge well done to everyone who took part and represented the band with such enthusiasm. It was a simple idea that turned into something quite special. Keep an eye on our page for more festive updates and performances as we head towards Christmas!
