Wellington (Telford) Brass Band to Take Part in Brass for Good 2026

Wellington (Telford) Brass Band is proud to announce that it will be taking part in Brass for Good, a unique and inspiring musical event set in the stunning surroundings of the Lake District.

Formerly known as the Light the Lakes Massed Band, this much-loved event brings together brass musicians from across the country to combine music, challenge, and fundraising for an important cause. In 2026, participants will once again take on one of the iconic Wainwright Fells, performing together in a truly unforgettable setting.

The event, taking place over the weekend of 26th–27th June in Ambleside (White Platts/Rothay Park), will raise vital funds for Care of Police Survivors (COPS), a charity dedicated to supporting the families of police officers who have lost their lives on duty.

Members of Wellington (Telford) Brass Band are already preparing for the challenge, combining rehearsals with training walks to ensure they are ready to tackle both the musical and physical demands of the weekend. The event promises not only a rewarding test of endurance, but also a powerful opportunity to come together in support of a meaningful cause.

The band is excited to be part of such a special occasion and looks forward to joining fellow musicians in raising as much as possible for COPS while experiencing the unforgettable atmosphere that Brass for Good is known for.
